VDL VDS has a rich history dating back to 1958. On 8 September that year, Piet van der Sande founded Technische Industrie VDS in Reusel. The company specialised in processing thin sheet metal with fully automatic presses. It also developed strong expertise in toolmaking.
On 10 February 1981, Technische Industrie VDS was acquired by Metaalwarenfabriek Van der Leegte B.V. With 70 employees, VDS became part of VDL Groep and one of the group’s first companies. At the time, VDL Groep had only 42 employees. Through the acquisition, VDL gained not only a specialist in automated sheet metal production, but also a fully equipped toolmaking facility and an extensive customer base.
Since then, VDL VDS has developed into an internationally recognised production partner. Its success still rests on craftsmanship, technical expertise and long-standing customer relationships. Many customers from its early years continue to rely on VDL VDS’s expertise today.

At VDL VDS, we combine over 65 years of experience in sheet metal production with modern manufacturing technologies.
