Not every product starts as a series-produced product. During development and market introduction, prototypes, test series or small quantities are often needed. This validates the design before investing in production tooling.
VDL VDS supports customers throughout this entire process. Prototypes and small series can be produced quickly and cost-effectively using methods such as bending, pressing and assembly. Soft tools can also be used for 3D-formed parts. This allows complex products to be tested and optimised at an early stage.
As the product proves itself in the market and volumes increase, production can be scaled up step by step. Our in-house engineering department and toolmaking facility can develop the required production tools. This is done when it is the best technical and economic choice.
This prevents unnecessary investments during the start-up phase. It ensures each product phase uses the most efficient production method.
