What is deepdrawing?
Deepdrawing is the seamless 3D forming of metal parts from materials such as (stainless) steel and aluminum. A sheet or plate is formed using a production tool and the required pressing force. Complex shapes may require multiple drawing operations in different phases, sometimes using different production tools.
DEEPDRAWING AT VDL VDS
With various hydraulic presses in different sizes, VDL VDS Technische Industrie can perform deepdrawing operations with a pressing force of up to 800 tons, suitable for insert and transfer tools.
Whether it concerns a new product concept or an already existing product, VDL VDS supports and guides you throughout the entire process with a team of experts, with the aim of keeping the cost price to a minimum. Thanks to its many years of experience, VDL VDS has all the knowledge and expertise in-house to produce even the most complex products within minimal tolerances.
The necessary production tools are designed, assembled, and maintained 'in-house' at VDL VDS.

With targeted investments in automation lines and the use of robots in the production processes, VDL VDS guarantees international competitiveness. The use of automation-lines and robots also offers extra flexibility and guarantees reproducible quality. With our automatic transfer systems and automatic loading and unloading of plates and products, VDL VDS has countless possibilities for producing deep drawn parts at the best possible price and the highest possible quality.
Additional processing needed?
Deep drawing is often the first step in our process chain. Thanks to its extensive range of competencies, VDL VDS can further process the product. This includes, for example, 3D-lasercutting, applying surface treatments. Also welding and/or assembly are among the possibilities. If desired, VDL VDS can act as a 'one-stop shop' for all your production requests.
