The flexibility of VDL VDS is demonstrated by the additional after-care services that are essential for a 'one-stop shop' in our industry. In-house produced parts can be finished and undergo surface treatment. These after-care services are carried out internally, where the surface treatments are outsourced.

Our Competences

 DEBURRING

After stamping and deepdrawing, a (stamping) burr remains on the products to a greater or lesser extent. In some cases, our customers request a burr-free product. This can be achieved by deburring. The workpieces are placed in a tumble with special tumbling stones. The vibration of the tumble 'grinds' these stones against the workpieces. The burrs are removed and the surface is made smoother, resulting in a more user-friendly product.

This process also creates a rougher surface, which improves the adhesion of surface treatments. At the same time, the workpiece is cleaned, allowing it to be further processed (e.g. for subsequent welding operations).

 Degreasing

After stamping or (in some cases) deepdrawing, a thin film of oil remains on the product. However, this oil is often undesirable for the additional process (e.g., welding) and/or the customer. To remove the oil residues, the products can be degreased. During degreasing, the parts are placed in a cage and then rinsed for several minutes.

surface treatments

In many cases, applying a surface treatment is the final step in the process chain. If desired, VDL VDS can provide the desired surface treatment, ensuring that you receive the (complete) end product. Some examples are Cataphoretic Dip Coating (CDC /KTL), powder coating, spray painting, and/or hardening. VDL VDS provides these services in collaboration with carefully selected suppliers who are regularly inspected and audited by one of our quality engineers.
